Formal Research Proposal phase1.Review material in this paper outline on Preparing the Formal Research Proposal
! Critical Event2.Meet with Supervisor at least twice during the 6 week preparation period
3.Undertake exploratory research, preliminary literature review and secondary research

4 to 5
1.Submit formal Research Proposal to your 499/599 supervisor
! Critical Event2.Meet with Supervisor, receiving feedback and suggestions on formal research proposal. Some re-drafting of the proposal may be necessary.

Week 6
!Critical Event3.Formal Research Proposal approved. This is now your research plan and should also be submitted to your sponsor.
Week 7 to 27Investigation Phase4.Work on the investigation according to your project timeline.
5.Liaise with supervisor at least every two weeks, maybe via email.
6.Make use of the supervisor’s experience and guidance and arrange meetings when necessary.
! Critical Event7.Receive approval for all data collection instrument(s) BEFORE you administer it.
! Critical Event8.Meet with supervisor to clarify report structure.
9.Data analysis and writing up of chapters.
Week 2710.Submit online final draft report to the Department
11.Final draft assessment meeting with supervisor and second assessor
Week 3212.Submit the completed report online
